The Sugar Cultural Landscape of Negros and Panay Islands represents the 19th-century cultivation, production and trade of sugar. The Philippines were a major global exporter at the time. The sugar production was industrialized and did not depend on slave labour. Historic architectural structures of the period, showing a mix of vernacuar and international styles, can be found in Iloilo City.
